Women Veterans Representative – Regina Murray LLMSW


Regina Murray served honorably in the Army and Army Reserves from 1999-2017. Her service includes overseas combat in Afghanistan and Kuwait as well as a mission in Honduras. Regina recently graduated from Oakland University with a master’s degree in social work. She received the Faculty-Student Collaboration Award with Doctor Maria Beam for her research project on The Socio-Economic and Mental Health Effects of Covid 19 on Veterans as well as two Outstanding Student Leadership awards while attending Oakland University. Regina was recognized for writing the Active Duty and Veterans Mental Health Bill to reform Federal policies with the goal of reducing the suicide statistics of service members. Regina and fellow veteran Modesto (Mo) De La O are working together to help homeless veterans in Oakland county and (someday) nationwide. Regina’s passion is helping veterans. Her career goal is to implement policies that improve mental health outcomes for active duty, reserve, National Guard, and veterans and reduce homelessness for veterans nationwide.
